We encourage the productive partnership with whanau to continue as their children begin these teenage years.
Through the value of Nga Whakapiringatanga our teachers are able to create a secure and well-managed learning environment for these students to flourish and to develop respectful relationships with one another. They are role models to the rest of the school and have opportunities to develop leadership and serving roles with younger students throughout the school while still feeling a strong sense of connection with friends, teachers, and the community. As the students move into the NCEA years we continue to strengthen the value of Kotahitanga where teachers promote, monitor, and reflect on outcomes that in turn lead to improvements in educational achievement for all students. As we strive for excellence we see this reflected in the NCEA results coming through and the willingness of our students to want to be all that God has created them to be. We have partnered with Tairawhiti Polytechnic to provide a wide variety of Trades experiences for our Year 12-13 students which have further enhanced our already effective timetable and curriculum choices that our students enjoy. All curriculum is delivered from a biblical perspective and our staff is passionate about implementing their curriculum areas in a Christ-centered and God honouring way so that we might love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Our school leavers move on from us knowing they have been challenged intellectually, grown to be culturally aware, physically challenged and spiritually mature, and ready to be world-changers for God.
