ACADEMIC

Students are encouraged to
know, love, serve, and trust our
Lord Jesus Christ, to commit
their lives to Him, and to love others
as Christ loves us.

Sonrise Christian School teaches from the New Zealand Curriculum through a Christian lens.

Excellence is one of the key school values and teachers always encourage high standards of work along with consistent expectations.

Science, Social Science and Technology are also an important part of the academic year right across the school.  In Year 12-13 students also have the opportunity to attend EIT (Local polytechnic) on a Friday to attend courses such as Computer Technology, Integrated Trades Skills (Construction, Electrical), Automotive, Agriculture, Hospitality and more.

The school also uses a variety of innovative tools such as Thinking Maps, Habits of Mind and Digital Learning to assist and motivate students to reach their full potential in all academic areas.

The school is proud of its academic record and many students have gone on to receive prizes and scholarships in their further studies.
