PRINCIPAL’S WELCOME

Kia ora tātou
Welcome to
Sonrise Christian School.

This is a school that partners with whanau to raise children
to be all God has created them to be.

My desire is that Sonrise becomes stronger in its identity based on the foundation set up at the beginning by the pioneers that started this school. That we become known as a school for what we stand for, not what we stand against; that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, that there is right and wrong, that we were created to have a relationship with the Living God and that we have a future with Him because of what His Son Jesus has done for us. Success in life is therefore measured in our relationship with the God of eternity and not by the measures of this temporary world. Sonrise chooses to live in this reality.

Through creating a learning environment that is strong in nurturing healthy relationships, is committed to the best learning pedagogy and resourced with effective learning tools we are empowered to thrive.

We live in uncertain times with a fast-changing culture, yet we stand on the Rock of Ages, our foundation in Christ is firm. We want our tamariki to know who God is and know their own identity as dearly loved sons and daughters of the Most-High God. We want them to be strong in knowing their whakapapa and the history of Aotearoa New Zealand and know their identity, that wherever they come from, it is something to be proud of. To love learning and strive towards excellence growing in their God-given gifts and talents and to become young world changers full of faith, hope, and love – to live a life in the fullness of what God has won for each of us. We can and we will – to the glory of God!
